Health & Safety

Health and Safety is a top priority at Viaton. High standards of health and safety are underpinned by company culture, reinforced by proactive involvement of Senior management.

Health And Safety Forklift

Our first line management team act as responsible Health and Safety Managers. Competence is achieved through professional qualifications, experience and the daily involvement in health and safety issues. In this way Health and Safety culture is embedded into the company and its everyday activities and operation. All employees are involved in Health and Safety improvement.

As a member of the British Safety Council we train employees to either BSCT level1 or level 2 in Health and Safety. Our Total Productive Manufacturing philosophy ensures the involvement of employees in risk assessment, safety inspections and safety kaizen. An employee suggestion scheme contributes to the improvement effort.

Proactive as well as reactive Health and Safety monitoring tools and KPI's are employed to encourage a constant quest for improved safety and employee welfare. We benchmark progress and provide recognition and feedback.

External Health and Safety consultants are employed to audit management processes and provide advice, mentoring, encouragement and feedback for the management team and employees.

Health And Safety DM1

At Viaton we do not view Health and Safety as a cost. In our experience the benefit accrued from improvement extends beyond the benefit to each employee. It improves our business, makes us more effective, raises quality, and adds value to our product offering, ultimately benefiting customers.
